weir sure of it. or at least i am.

Last week me and my family took an evening visit to the BYU Museum of Art. We originally went for the Islamic art exhibit, but ended up in The Weir Family collection instead. I love museums, I really do. The Met is one of the few places I'd do a repeat visit of in New York. There's always so much more to a painting when you see it up close and know who it's for and what it's of.

And I maybe also love doing a quick pirouette or two on those
wide-open wood floors when no ones watching.

Bonjour!

READERS!
You guys are going to be so proud of me and also happy when you hear the fantastic news that is about to spill from my... keyboard.

Ta-da! I'm officially back from my break!

This is the truth! And it is for very much reals this time. I even made a whole binder full of calendars so as to keep me on task and on schedule when it comes to the blog! Things are getting official over here.

(there's some proof if you need it. I've been having fun with fonts lately, or maybe it's officially 'typography' but I'm not interested in the particulars right now.)

While I was gone I...

-competed/participated at the Utah Distinguished Young Women program.
-Spent a solid two days putting together an interior design project.
-Got an iPhone. (oh yes.)
-Showed up to school on a major test day... without knowing there was a test.
-Redesigned the blog (as you can see)
-Got really good at Instagram
-Took photos of my outfits everyday in January
-Didn't clean my room
-Was successful at curling my hair (see photos at right)
-annd loved/still love my art history class.

So! You folks can expect to hear from me on Monday, while in the meantime you can follow it up on Instagram, Pinterest, My365, Twitter... the end.

"I've seen this blundered up so many times it gives me the heart failure"

It's 12:35, yes it is, but I know that if I don't take care of this here post it won't be done for the next three weeks probably and then I might be worrying some of you dears.

It's probably strange to say that I was super busy over my two week Christmas break. Well, I may not have been too busy, but I was certainly otherwise occupied. The this now though is that I'm going to be extra otherwise occupied these next few weeks with the end of term (plenty of makeup work) and the state level of Distinguished Young Women this month. What I mean to say is that you probably won't hear from me for a while so don't go worrying, because I will be back. A brand new me will be back. I can already feel it.

To hold you over here is a list of things in list form:

-I watched Midnight In Paris at long long long last and serious loveitsomuch.
Especially the music, oh boy oh boy.

-I got an iPhone. What? Yes kids.
Instagram is sort of my new blog, follow it: rosie0h

-That O is a 0, it sort of happened accidentally, all the good usernames were taken.

-2012 is going to be mounds better than 2011 and I know that for straight up fact.
I can tell by the way my checklists have been getting very checked even in these first three days.

-It was over 50 degrees here today. I windows-down drove today.
Utah, did you ever hear about how you're supposed to be the greatest snow on earth!?
Not cool (no pun intended).

- There is just too much to do, and I know that for a straight up fact as well.

-I hope you had a merry holiday and a happy new year.
I will catch you fine folks in a few
...weeks? days?
I don't even know myself.

stay tuned
XO ROSIE

All Hallow's Eve {you heard me, all of it.}

It's only a few weeks late... but I just thought I'd share my Halloween costume anyhow.
here it is: an aviator.

knee-high boots were obviously a part of this.
you better believe I faux-bobbed.
Everyone was making Amelia Earhart comments, so I just yelled at them things like, "I'm not Amelia Earhart, I'm just a pilot in general!!" Needless to say I made a lot of friends that day.

As for the decor, my little brothers put together a pretty swell spook alley outside our house, and I would be remised if I didn't share it with you:

not part of the spook alley:
Oh yes, my elder brother's birthday is on Halloween so, you know, Happy Birthday brother!
also,  I was indeed enlisted as the designated eye-linerer.
and that's the way the cookie crumbled this Halloween.

ode to 8 a.m.

8 a.m. on weekdays.
That is my favorite thing right now.

You know, when your not at school when you should be.
And the sun is coming up over the mountains.
And the news is on the radio.
And your outfit and hair and makeup are freshly done.
And its not really warm or cold outside.
It's just the morning?

Yes. That is my favorite.
If there's anything I'm excited for when I graduate it's getting to be up and about at 8 am on weekdays.
{You know, as opposed to being in a window-less classroom.}

XO ROSIE

PS: I have not not been at school when I should be recently.
I was just thinking about how much I liked the mornings when I went to school tardy last year.
Except for the part where I went to school tardy. That's not really that fun.

take a dip

The other day I went swimming in my church dress.

and this is some proof of it.
swimming in dresses beats swimming in swimsuits.

Lake Shores and a BFF

Well Hey!

Right this moment, I am successfully wasting time that could be spent finishing my english paper and getting to bed early. (I really only have an intro, ending, and a paragraph or two more to finish... mmm, that's actually a lot.)

However, I really couldn't help but to post about today's adventure with my very favorite BFF. Her name is Gabe and sometimes I think she is Audrey Hepburn (this is the first she'll hear of this thought, aha!) She is smart, pretty, clever and older than I which means we can drive places! Today, we drove to the lake and ate good burgers and fries... or I just ate the burgers and fries.

The lake was beautiful today, recently melted and all sparkly and stuff.

And this song was playing in my head, which was good because I needed to connect it to a pretty day instead of the dreary day that it had been while I listened to it for the first times.

Did you have a lovely lake adventure with a bestie today?
I sure hope you did, because they are the best kind of adventures.

Now back to Wordsworth and Byron!

Oh, I couldn't forget the least flattering of all...! Aha!

looking forward.

that last post was just plain ugly to the eyes.
I get a little OCD with things being aesthetically pleasing, and that post was just not.
so... moving on.

things to look forward to:

whenever I feel down, I remember that this is only a few days away, and I am instantly cheered up.

and then, right after that, I'm off to this place.

these precise two. I'm so anxious!!
and before you know it, it will be April. Which is when my backordered Free People dresses will be ready to ship. and soon after, in my very own closet! (I'm probably most excited for these.)

So don't feel down! There are plenty of things to look forward to!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

unfortunately, today turned dreary.

(photo from this little shoot a while back)

Today was a lame day, starting last night. All in regards to math tests and exhaustion. Which is the reason why there is no outfit post today. (Because my outfit today was a sweatshirt and the same jeans I wore yesterday, gah.) Also, today brought an embarrassing event which may have involved falling over (backwards), and which I am not yet ready to talk about in good humor. Maybe tomorrow.

But, there is still some good news! I found a pretty song. I did not realize it was from Shrek Forever After until after the fact, but no matter, it is still a good little tune. Here you are...

XO ROSIE

PS: If anyone out there wants to invite me to Pinterest,
I'd be very thankful and send you hugs via the blog.

I always get The White Stripes and The Black Keys mixed up in my head.

{ screenshot from kanye west's my beautiful dark twisted fantasy? feathers hooray! }
I have so many things that I want to do right now.
But so many things that I have to do right now, that make it impossible to even think about what I want to be doing.

I have a headache, and math homework.
And a lot of new years resolutions that I haven't written down.
and guess what. I'm cutting my bangs.

It's actually lame timing for cutting my bangs how I want them cut because, lately like five people at school just got their bangs cut like how I'm cutting mine (note: high school = the worst. it's one of those things that I have to do that doesn't cross on to the list of things I want to do. It's especially the worst at end of term time.) But, that's all.

Maybe, when I finish doing things I'm supposed to be doing, I might even take some time to do things I want to do, like learn how to actually do my hair (or not.) Maybe I'll even take the time to clean my room (or not.) and blog all the times a week I want to (or not.)

We'll see.
For now, have a good evening.
